August 31, 2023 - dark red cote, brick rim, in color.

raspberry, blackberry, currant, cherry, pepper, smoky meats, iron, spicy, leather, dark roasted coffee, vanilla.

juicy black fruit, smoky meats, spicy, on the finish. the wine is still bold and can continue to evolve for another 5-10 years.

August 28, 2018 - Wow, timeless, looking at past notes over a decade it's the same - inky dark, juicy iron-clad fruit, yum!

August 20, 2018 - This is an excellent Syrah that is in its prime drinking window now. It has blackberries and cassis with a great black pepper note from mid palate onward to a finish with resolved tannins with no mis-steps in between. No need to wait for further development with maybe a couple more years before there could be some lessening of enjoyment. Delicious!

October 28, 2016 - Consumed at a party, so hard to make full evaluation/description.

May 25, 2016 - Popped a bottle after Todds enthusiastic review below. Very good wine but I wasn't exactly jumping up and down like Todd. Had the obvious Cali fruits, some mineral/earth/spice but seemed to be a little out of balance for me. Bottle did disappear quickly. I have one more and I have a feeling it might improve with a bit more time - but who really knows.
