April 25, 2024 - 'Left-field' whites (TWS North London) (Must and Lees, Liverpool Road): This was quite popular round the table and performed creditably in the final vote, but it wasn't my thing. I found it quite monolithic in its buttery/oaky style, though enjoyed the nutty notes (hazelnut, almond). Hard for me to imagine drinking a lot of this but I can understand the popularity.

March 30, 2024 - me: what if there was a wine that had the brightness and oxidative savouriness of Valdespino Inocente, but was lower alcohol than a sherry, and also had more depth and aromatic complexity than the Inocente, and was super-easy to drink with dinner?

    this wine: *exists*

March 2, 2024 - Wax, lemon pith, hint of melon with balanced acidity and long finish of the same with a bit of umami. Not well liked by those at the table. Same notes second day.

December 31, 2023 - Really expressive nose, floral and green. Mouthfeel is rich, good acidity, with citrus and pear like flavors. Mild hints of sherry like oxidation on the finish.

October 18, 2023 - TWS Rioja tasting (Chelsea Old Town Hall): Rich, slightly oxidative and waxy. Almond, dried apricot and peach. A bit flat and chalky on the palate without much in the way of acidic lift or freshness. Found it a bit plodding.
