Community Tasting Notes 3

  • Tudz Drkl Likes this wine:

March 21, 2022 - Ruby to the edges, Medium plus opacity. Red and black fruits on the nose (intense and clean) with pronounced chocolate notes. The palate was medium strong round and silty tannins enclosing pure fruits and more chocolate notes. Medium plus bodied and finishes long and clean.

October 12, 2021 - Hartenberg tasting (Oinoscent): Tasted at Oinoscent
The wine shows dense deep colour
In the nose the wine shows a rather confused character, a bit of ripe fresh black fruit, a touch of oak and handful of spices.
In the palate, the wine shows overripe to dried black fruit, medium tannins, alcohol heat and medium finish
    --/--
Tasted again the next day, the wine had cleared up, the fruit was far more on the red side, the spices were defined but still backed a lot of heat.

May 14, 2021 - Syrahs from different continents to challenge a 100-point score (Skype): Wine 5 of 6 (blind). Ripe, integrated red and dark berry notes, light coffee, dark cocoa, light smoke, and complex spice notes, with ripe tannin, slightly pronounced acidity that is not perfectly integrated at this point, and very good length. On day one, the wine seems disjointed as it enters into the last third, and hence not fully harmonious, but seems to hold promise.

By day two, the wine is dense and concentrated, and more harmonious. On day four, the tannin is a little sandpapery and the wine has become a little drying and asks for food.

Good mid-term potential. Should be fun to watch this evolve. Hold for now, and start drinking from 2025.
