February 13, 2023 - Showing very well tonight; all red fruit, cola and spice with an iron backbone. Probably at its best now. If you wait for secondary flavors to emerge, you might also lose all the fruit.

September 20, 2019 - Richebourg + RSV for Mike and Pete's birthday (Holland Park, Singapore): Very nice indeed, and really youthful for a 1993 - I actually thought it was a 2001 when blind. The nose had a little shade green funk, with those boiled herb and ginkgo nut aromas that made me think 2001 or 2004, and then much more attractive drifts of sweet red fruit and Vosne spice and some violet flowers. Very nice. The palate was where the wine really shone though. It had a fabulous glow of sweet red cherries and berries laced with gentle spice, all playing against a wonderful backdrop of sinewy earth and mineral - very Richebourg, all the way into a long, effortlessly powerful finish. This was an absolutely lovely drop drinking wonderfully on the night. Super stuff.

March 30, 2019 - Getting better as it ages. About as good as Burg gets without getting into the big boys like DRC etc.

August 28, 2018 - This was excellent, no doubt; though given the price and expectations I'd say it was only average. My first Richebourg, purchased a few months ago from a reliable seller of back vintages; the nose is complex and interesting; slightly dried red berry fruits, sous bois, smoke, hints of Chinese five spice, a bit of leather and barn funk. The palate is still delicious with very good concentration, great energy, and all the complexity on the nose translates. The finish is a touch smoky, but still very good. Its clearly an excellent wine, drinking fully mature at this point, but I wouldn't buy it again at the price I paid.

March 11, 2017 - Gorgeous wine, beautiful showing. Secondary fruit, still luscious, and showed the firm structure and the almost cumin scented fragrance, but on the palate, that I recognize of Richebourg. Undulated with complexity, just wonderful. Love love loved this wine.
