August 17, 2013 - S FL WS Group Summer Offline (Market 17 - Ft. Lauderdale, FL): From magnum with no decanting (not required). Mostly blackberry fruit with medium body and low to medium acidity. Surprisingly soft, round and supple for a New World rhone blend, with more reserved fruit, elegance and complexity than expected, likely due to its age. Really in a great spot now.

March 28, 2011 - Dark ruby red color. Cherries, spice, licorice, tree bark, peat moss, white pepper, and a bit of mint on the very nice nose. Fairly full bodied with soft, ripe tannins and good acidity. Not as rich and plush on the palate as the nose leads you to believe or how I remember this wine. The fruit seems to be fading a bit into the background but not much is filling in the void. This is leaving a touch of alcohol poking out on the finish. Still a very enjoyable wine, but I'd error on the side of being cautious and look at consuming these over the next several month.

June 24, 2010 - What a relief. After really weird experiences with this and an 07, I'm happy to say this has been a return to goodness. Booming nose of melted licorice and BBQ meat. Silky, rich texture loaded with spicy red and black fruits and licorice. Slight hint of heat on the finish, but ample fruit to keep it from being noticed elsewhere. An enjoyable bottle, but definately feeling the alcohol after two glasses. Seems to be holding up well, but I liked this a bit more upon release.

March 21, 2010 - Dark ruby color. Crushed blackberries, licorice, cherries, cola, forest floor, and violets on the nose. Full body with ripe tannins and good acidity. Loads of berries, cherries, dried herbs, and a hint of mint on the palate. Long finish with spicy berries. This is my third bottle of this wine and I think the best yet.

July 26, 2009 - 3rd bottle from collection. Popped and poured. Ripe nose. Spicy peppery palate. Full-bodied with delicious long finish. Similar to bottle #1, better than bottle #2.
