February 7, 2023 - Opened one hour in advance. Aroma of floral red fruit with a bit of brininess. Light flavors of red fruit up front, fatty bacon finish with herbal notes. Complex, chimerical. A beautiful and unique expression of syrah.

February 2, 2023 - Nose of light cherry. Definitely leaning towards the northern Rhone types of syrah versus your typical California. Spicy pepper and wood note at the attack. There's a little bit of black olive hiding in there but very faint. Finishes smooth and feminine.

April 18, 2022 - Wasn't quite to the level of the '15 based on this one bottle. I'll let CMN's excellent notes speak for me, otherwise. 90-91 pts.

February 18, 2021 - This bottle was consumed too soon after my last, but it confirmed my belief that this is just a standout bottle of wine. There's a nice mix of flavors with the dark red and purple berries overlaid with an intense white floral character. I noticed a subtle white pepper note that I did not pick up on previously. Medium bodied with ample acidity and fine grained tannins. This is in a lovely spot and while it should have a long life ahead, it is absolutely delicious today.

January 5, 2021 - Dark purple and completely opaque with a complex nose of sweet white florals overlaid against dark red berries. The palate follows the nose with dark red and purple berries mixing with floral notes and a subtle dose of barbecued beef, which livens up the midpalate and lingers on the finish. The addition of 2% Viognier lends a pleasing freshness and brings to mind a youthful Côte Rôtie. Acidity is spot on with fine grained tannins that suggest that this will age well for years to come. Still, this is in a good spot if you favor the exuberance of youth.

    13.4%abv, 76 cases. 92-93.
