April 22, 2021 - Jean Luc & Paul Aegerter, Nuits Saint-Georges, Premier Cru Les Vallerots, 2019: Deep ruby towards garnet, with on the nose crushed red currants, black cherries and strawberries with notes of smoke, leather, and wet earth. Medium-bodied, with on the palate juicy tart strawberries, red currants, cranberries, rich earth and minerals with beautiful saline and savory notes and touches of orange peel, followed by notes of roasted mushrooms, medium-plus acidity, silky yet firm tannins, with a hint of Dutch cocoa on the long, elegant and racy finish. More approachable than the Grand Cru but just as pretty, true joy in a bottle. 13% Abv. Drink 2027-2035. 93-94
