Community Tasting Notes 5

February 1, 2024 - Very nice but 14% abv is a lot. Well integrated so you don’t taste it but you definitely feel it the next day..

September 4, 2023 - From half bottle, this is utterly gorgeous right now. Getting only a touch of match sulfur, this bottle is otherwise hardly reductive. Pears and flamboyant, this tastes like a Meursault. According to Rare Wine Company, this is from Fichet's Les Pellans vineyard, which directly abuts Les Charmes (1er cru Meursault), yet this can only carry the Bourgogne label. As it breathes, it does take on a bit of alcohol but so it reveals more chalk.

July 2, 2023 - A struck match and sulphur nose along with pears. Ripe pears, well concentrated and bright acid on the palate. Very good Bourgonge.

June 12, 2022 - Even on the nose, the alcohol is apparent. I know this is a generic Burgundy, but even an entry level wine should reflect the house style and quality. This was surprisingly alcoholic, and white wines particularly don't carry alcohol well. Very disappointing.
