March 15, 2024 - Gerat tonight w/ Alaskan King Salmon! Opened 3hrs prior to dinner and slow-oxed in Burg Glasses & btl. Wow, such a pretty semi translucent magenta color! Wonderful florals along with spice & berries. The palate is uber fresh & succulent with raspberry, mineral and more spice. There's a sense of richness counter-balanced by terrif acidity! Barthod's a world class producer that for the moment, is still affordable. I'm delighted to own a few! 13% alc.

May 27, 2023 - Medium red. Good pinot colour.
Red to blue fruits, Chambolle sweetness.
Austere, restrained on the palate, a slight funkiness on the finish. Not for me. Time will help it, but I doubt the funkiness will go. Possibly the bottle, but I didn't feel it was a bottle issue.

April 15, 2023 - This was served blind to me. The first thing that comes across about the wine is how lactic it remains as a function of youth. I’m told that this element faded many hours later, but on the initial pop it was quite prominent.

Beyond that, with a transparent ruby color, it is medium to full bodied, and has some of the features/feel of low intervention winemaking (unobtrusive oak, transparent fruit, minimal if any noticeable reduction). There is a nice potpourri spice note on the finish. I guessed a 2020 from Claire Naudin and don’t feel too badly about it.

This wine has a nice combination of fullness and elegance, but please don’t open any for a long time.

March 7, 2023 - Super nice village level wine. Great concentration and energy. Very good freshness. With a little time, this is going to be an excellent wine.

March 6, 2023 - Zingy-tart red cherry. Drying, quenching, lip-smacking. Bit of briar and woodsy spice. Med+ acid, med tannin.
Has a bit of a bite right now, but seems like it has all the right stuffing to integrate and age well, outperforming for a village wine.
90-92 for me today, but good potential here.

Follow up, 4 days later (on argon/Coravin): This has mellowed out a good bit. Very tasty, touch of apricot on the finish. Bodes well for future development.
