November 10, 2022 - It’s very young in its expression and will definitely improve over the next years. Still delicious, of course.
I really love the nose right now with the lemon-meringue pie feeling together with the smokiness and the tennis ball. Yum!
As always from Chanterêves, this is extremely elegant and delicate. It opens up for intense aromas of baked apple chips, ripe peach, buttered scones, lemon curd, tangerine and Meyer lemon, a good touch of smoke and petrol-like notes, rosehip mild caramel. It’s quite stony in the minerality and has a very intriguing touch of warm plastic or tennis ball (I really like that edge!).
Semi full-bodied with great minerality, soft edges, a sharp but balanced acidity and a nice green dryness from the clusters.
Quince, ripe pear, peach, dried apricot, lemon peel, mild licorice root, hints of smoke and salt in the finish.
