February 18, 2024 - Looks a light lemon in the glass, with indistinct legs ( a modest12.5% alc ). As others have noted, the nose is ,at first , restrained, but opens out to show chalkiness, hints of flint, apple and pear, peach and guava, herbs, and a slightly buttery toasted oatmeal! A complex nose leads into a palate , with quite a full, slightly oily body, medium acidity, and flavours of unripe peach , quince, and sour apple. The finish is dry , saline, and chalky. An understated, elegant wine , whose charms slowly grow in the glass. Will be good for another 3-4 years. Recommended.

January 27, 2024 - A shimmering medium gold. Vibrant with a nervous energy; crisp, mineral driven, balanced, well put together, citrus with chardonnay fullness of flavor. Buy again

November 23, 2023 - Reasonably priced Burgundy (Must & Lees, Warren Street): Nice purity and drive. White peach, green apple, very light on the oak treatment. Slightly flat on the palate in comparison to a really lovely nose.

November 23, 2023 - Basic Bourgogne (TWS), 23 November (Must and Lees, Warren Street): I wrote 'correct' in my notes on this and it was rock solid: the chalky, slightly tight nose gave way to stone fruit and graphite with time in the glass. The palate is more generous and full (but not yet rich), with melon, a dab of candied lime (perhaps even bitter orange), toast and a drying ending.

This is a delightful mouthful of wine already, but you feel there is more to come from it, with that underlying richness hinting at longer life.

November 23, 2023 - Entry level Bourgogne (Must & Lees, Warren Street): Slight spritz on opening. Very refined as usual, linear with sharp citrus and white fruit. There is depth here, you sense some underlying richness which never quite arrives in full, nice energy. Basically all my previous notes apply, this is really very good.
