November 4, 2022 - More gobs of fruit in this bottle than I remember from the bottle we just tasted at the winery a few days before...weird. Still, a very solid fruit forward, enjoyable wine. The red and blue plum fruit flavors from the merlot really shine in this wine and makes this particular bottling from Larkmead so different from the rest of their cab dominated lineup. Lots of clove and baking spice and a sort of leafy character are present as well. Med-long finish with nice, fine-grained tannins.

October 9, 2022 - Larkmead visit with Z+L and E+R: A subtle wine with some elegance. Nice, bright acid. Light for a Napa Cab/Merlot blend. Medium body - maybe even medium-minus. Medium intensity. A little rustic and aromatic, lending some complexity. Subtle enough that you might miss what's going on here if you don't pay attention.

June 8, 2022 - I was surprised that my extended family had a bottle available for us to drink. Had a great time seeing them and I've always wanted a bottle of Larkmead.
