    July 14, 2022 - Bought The Wine Society UK £19.90 June 2022.

    AC...Vinos Alicante.
Tierras de la Marina Y Alto Vinalopo.
    Blend: Monastrall/Giro.

    Decanted 1 hr.

N....rich, beyond mild intensity; some coffee, liquorice, new-saddle leather, alc seems out of balance, dusty barrel...a good level of interest/complexity at just 3 yrs.

    C....med-dark red.

T....soft rich ripe fruit; unctious and interesting red wine, near inky concentration though is already drinking very well but with obvious cellar potential too; has a decent mineral profile; some nice mocha and bitter chocolate; rich flavours but has enough acid; seductive soft mouth-feel; gentle tannins; sweet slightly smokey oak. Long flavours. Ends near-dry, almost properly dry.

VFMoney?.....Feels worth every penny of just under £20.00. Will buy again.

April 13, 2022 - A blend of Monastrell (Mourvèdre) and Giro (I had to look it up too!) Drunk cellar temp at around 16c
Medium purple, m+ intensity on the nose and pronounced in the mouth.
Fantastically juicy, plums, mulberry, black cherry, roast strawberry, bramble, tobacco, leather, pepper, bay leaf, smoke and a touch of vanilla. Some meat, and slightly herbal.
Dry, medium acidity, medium firm but ripe tannins, medium alcohol, medium body and a m+ intensity & finish.
The wine is very good and I completely agree with Will Devize that this wine is crying out for a huge plate of charcuterie!

March 11, 2022 - Juicy and full with some barnyard on the nose; smoky with a little menthol. Sappy and with good typicity if a little too overworked to warrant opening a second bottle. Give me some peppery charcuterie please! Lacking a bit of subtlety but entirely worthwhile at this price.

June 19, 2021 - Nose - light smoke, bramble, dark chocolate once opened up. Flavours of blackberry, black pepper, plum sauce, subtle vanilla, then the flavours shift again towards a fresh finish, almost briny, with bay and herbal flavours unfurling gradually. Kept its complexity and interest on the second day. Great balance for such a full bodied wine at this price, definite bargain.
