November 24, 2023 - A little oaky right now but has nice dark fruit with mountain structure and acidity. Little bit of shrubs/chaparral.

Drinks well if you enjoy a healthy kiss of oak. 91 quality

April 21, 2023 - Deep ruby. Vanilla on the nose. On the palate high acidity, medium alcohol, full body, grippy tannins. Strawberries and hay. Still drinking young.

March 1, 2023 - Less primary and fruit driven than my prior tasting nearly 2 years ago. Perhaps this will develop into something great, although I would say it lacks a bit of complexity at this stage. I'll hold on to my remaining bottles another year or two before tryin again.

October 26, 2022 - Decanted an hour, back in bottle. Supposedly Rams Gate Bismark vineyard.

Nose is tight but shows dusty blackberries and dark fruit, mountain rocks, something iron-like, and a hint of floral/herbaceous character. Underlying oak too. Palate is full bodied but the acidity keeps things light. Fresh blackberries, some currants, and supple vanilla. Tannins are big and burly but will settle down with some time. Finish is phenomenal. Crunchy plums, blackberries, rocky earth, gentle mocha oak. Lasts quite awhile too.

Really nice wine that will substantially benefit from more cellaring. Incredible value at the DN price.

HOLD for another 3-5 years, or can try giving this 1h decant and 24h back in bottle. 92 now but look to 94+ when this has some more age.

Day 2: Poured about 4.5oz into a 5oz bottle. The nose is the same but palate is open and showing tremendously. Blue fruit, blackberries, sage, very well balanced acid and tannins. Confirms my prediction of 94+ with age.

September 24, 2022 - Opaque purple with black reflects

Intense black cherry, plum, and gently herbaceous aromas layered over nicely integrated oak spice notes.

At cellar temperature this is big, large scaled, aggressively oaked on entry featuring dry tannins and lots of toasty oak flavors. It smells better than it tastes at the moment, though lurking behind the oak, and emerging minty and chalky accents, lays some jammy black currant, black cherry fruit that shows some finesse and length on the long finish. Big wine, youthful wine but well balanced and most likely the fruit will be able to absorb the significant oak applied here.
