April 26, 2024 - Delicious and I found no need to decant although it broadened with some air. Very gulpable from cork popping to the last glug. Southern Rhone inspired blend but with Syrah dominant plus 3% Petite Syrah to this richly red-fruited blend all California in character. Nothing of the garrigue or funk. The Dream of Spring was perfect on a cool rainy Oregon Spring evening.

March 2, 2024 - This is pretty good but really needs substantial air to open up well. I decanted this with time planned for 1.5 hours sitting before dinner time (having seen another note recommending 1 hour to be enjoyable). Immediately after decanting I took a small tasting pour and it was a bit too hot to be enjoyable. After returning with take-out dinner an hour and a half later, it was better but there was still noticeable heat. Took another 30-60 minutes to start drinking nicely in my opinion. Would suggest planning for 2.5-3 hour decant.

February 11, 2024 - My teenage son wanted nachos for his birthday dinner, so I needed a nacho wine -- something robust enough to stand up to Mexican spiciness, but with the acidity to stand up to tomatoes. Bingo! This had even more acidity than I was expecting (and I write that approvingly), and a lot of Syrah complexity -- a dark fruitiness (mostly blueberry), a meatiness, some spice, black olive. It benefitted from an hour in the decanter -- my wife didn't like it when it was first open, but then approved heartily when we had it with our teenage dinner.

January 28, 2024 - In the spirit of ripe fruity Paso Rhône blend but dialed back just enough to not be over the top. Easy drinking and with depth. Well done

October 10, 2023 - This is my third bottle of the Dream of Spring. Classic Paso, big mouthfeel and fruit but not over the top. Really like the inversion of a Syrah-dominated blend instead of Grenache. Deep color in the glass, smokiness and dark fruits on the nose and palate. Mourvedre and Petite Syrah complete the blend giving it more acidity, freshness and complementary tannins. A real winner, great for sipping on the porch.
