September 30, 2023 - Has opened up nicely in the two years since I tasted this at the winery. Can we please live in the alternate universe where Paso Robles makes wine like this?

Ripe strawberry, ripe black cherry, fresh cracked black pepper, milk chocolate on the nose. The palate adds cloves, black licorice and allspice, while keeping all of the fruit. The presence of oak is felt here without it verging into the "vanilla bomb" territory you see way too often in Paso. And while the oak is nicely restrained, the fruit is generous. Lovely medium + intensity of both flavors and aromas too.

Medium + body with medium acid and medium + tannin. Drinking very well right now; but if you like more tertiary stuff (and Mourvèdre should have plenty) then age it another 3-5 years from here. The structure shows that it can benefit.

November 19, 2021 - Very good Mourvèdre from Paix Sur Terre. Aromas of dark berries and musky in the glass with flavors of tobacco, leather and licorice on the palate. Still plenty of tannins, but should mellow with time. Will try to wait another year before opening the next bottle.

June 1, 2021 - Tasted at the winery

Pretty fruit backward. Motor oil, black cherries, smoked meat and leather. Full bodied, great structure; but tight. Try it in a couple more years.
