Community Tasting Notes 6

August 7, 2023 - Almost clear in color. Not much on the nose. The fruit underneath is tasty. I was a bit disappointed in this. Hopefully, it will improve with additional bottle age.

September 22, 2022 - Pale medium gold color, cooked apples, pears and oaky vanilla on the nose. The richness of the vintage comes through on both the nose and the palate in this wine. Medium+ body with sufficient acid to carry all this opulence. Slight minerally and alcoholic finish.

October 17, 2021 - Not as thrilling as I would have expected it to be, and better on day two. All the stuffing is there, I think just hold for a little bit. On the other hand, I've drunk it so often I have huge expectations. The '13 is still going strong!

October 15, 2021 - Touch of cinnamon spice on the nose. The weight comes on the back.

August 22, 2021 - ABV: 14.1%. Didn't have any whites at home except for this bottle and it was definitely way too young to open. Sadly, there were some missing qualities that left me unimpressed, particularly the lack of acidity and minerality. The bottle was opened and consumed over two nights so it had about 24 hours to open up. Although notes of apples and stone fruits became more prominent over that time period, the overall profile of the wine remained flat and one-dimensional. Simply put, I've had Bourgogne Blancs that were much more exciting and complex at half the price.
