  May 15, 2016 - 15% alc. Light red color with no orange notes because of age. Initially, the nose was a subtle mix of red cherry, bee pollen, and honey with celery, dark chocolate and orange blossom as it opened. The palate displayed cherry and honey, but with a little air, sassafras, cocoa, and a touch of bitterness, that quickly subsided, emerged. There is adequate acidity and lacy mouthfeel in this light-bodied wine. Overall, I was impressed by the complexity of this single clone wine, and due to its acidi, it paired well with a variety of foods.

  March 1, 2013 - 15% alcohol. Dark red center with slight orange tint. The floral nose blends with licorice, cherry, burnt rubber, celery, and stemmy hints. In the mouth, there is raspberry, rhubarb, stems, earth, and spice. Structurally, there is high acidity to offset the fruit and provide a plush mouthfeel. There is a twinge of bitterness on the finish that detracts from the total package. Overall, this wine had some unique characteristics, and on the second day, it became more fruit friendly, lost the bitter notes, and softened nicely.

  September 25, 2012 - the wine has a nice purity that is common from this part of the world. Lovely bright fruit with substantial backbone. This wine is really quite delicious.

  July 24, 2010 - Chablis, Melville Clonal Blending and The Round 3 Let 'Er Rip (My House In The South OC): Popped and poured, tasted immediately as I prepare for the blending party later this afternoon. Tastes like an SRH wine. Dark plum, orange rind, spice but also maintains some earthiness, a soil note, with a nice finish.
