Community Tasting Notes 4

March 1, 2024 - Opened at Le Chat-Botté in Geneve. P&P and enjoyed over lunch.

Extremely saline and mineral - this was the main note. This softened up with some air and yielded some red fruits and went down very easily but the main theme was salinity for the whole bottle. Good to try whilst in Ch, probably slight upside, but no more extensive notes taken. Probably better QPR elsewhere.

March 1, 2024 - Mittleres Rubinrot, erste Reifetöne am Rand. Offene Nase, rauchig, blonder Tabak, Kräuterspeck, Cassis, Sauerkirschen, Rhabarber, Blutorangen.

January 3, 2024 - Light garnet. Discrete nose of redcurrant and spice. Very elegant mouthfeel without being thin, delineated and pure. Youthful still. A pleasure to drink now but with upside from here.

September 26, 2021 - Decanted briefly (about 30mins). This opened up quickly in the glass showing rhubarb, raspberry and red cherry fruit, sweet cherry compote, fine layers of herbs, spices and scents of perfume. Plenty of minerality too. Balanced, fresh and well-structured. Amazingly puristic in terms of style. While not as rich as the 2010 and with maybe just a tad less finesse than the 2016, the 2019 is right up there with the best Swiss Pinot has to offer.
