Community Tasting Notes 1

  • adnorthup Likes this wine:

August 11, 2021 - 4 hour decant. dark but opaque. Nose is light giving off some cherry and savory undertones. First sip has a rush of the same cherry, but a little sweeter, some woodsy-ness, and a firm wall of tannins and acid on the finish. The 33% new oak us a presence but certainly not overbearing at all. I agree that the oxygen from the racking Cody did in 2019 pushes the savory notes out. Comes very much into balance at the 6 hour mark, wonderful California cab that shows a lot of Petaluma Gap signature sometimes more so that the cab signature.
