Compared with its Cote de Py stablemate, this is a darker coloured, riper fruited, less acidic, fuller bodied and broader wine. It’s by no means flabby, but it’s not the skin and bones of the Morgon. It’s got a meaty chew about it expected of the Cru, alcohol is a touch obvious through the finish. A point or two less on opening, will give it a day to see how it goes with air. 89 and ready to drink on day one.
Day 3.
Soft red fruit, warm medium bodied with a wide spread. Finishes with Indian paan masala spice mix of mint, aniseed, and cinnamon quill. Grainy tannins and cocoa round out the wine. It’s medium bodied, slightly plush. 90.1 person found this helpful Comment
