May 10, 2024 - Shit! I should have read my own tasting note from 2yrs ago & pulled something else from the cellar. Super hot, tasting more like 15.5, not at all integrated and jammy. Might all pull together & impress one day, but sadly, that day is not today. Give it 5yrs min.

May 9, 2024 - Brimming with blue and black fruits in the nose and a mineral beam with the slightest hint of mint on the background and stayed this way thru the bottle as it opened up over 3 hours.
Flavors of black fruits, not a hint of anything red (like cherry, red berry) mixed with pencil lead and mineral stone. Also notably missing is any spicy notes which is unusual for any Optimus and that's why there is so much black berry and mineral on the pallet. It's still tightly wrapped up and as good as this is, it's still on its way up.
Great now mid 2024 but 2026 and beyond will be better.

April 10, 2024 - Not in the drinking window that 2017 is, this wine wine could be drink now or held for more integration. Very promising for an entry level. Linear and more representative of the Paso blend. Like the 2017, just amazing balance here considering 15.5% alcohol.

December 25, 2023 - One of the best Red Blends coming out of Paso. This wine has got tons of life for any bottles you might have laid down. Red fruit that is a little on the tart side. Big tannins, but don’t hinder the drinkability.
