July 5, 2023 - Hints of cinnamon and allpsice flit about a center of sour cherry and raspberry. Some sort of interesting earthiness in there as well. Has a hit of fresh ground pepper medley on the endnote. A touch out of balance with the sour too dominant throughout the palate, but I only just opened it.

    Initial score of 88.

Second glass is showing very well. There is tantalizing complexity to the earthy spices now, and the berries have gotten more lush and less sour. Balance has been achieved and all is in delicious harmony. In part it was drunk with a dinner of olives, cheeses, and figs from our garden drizzled with stravecchio balsamic vinegar.

    Not your typical Pinot Noir.

    Score updated to 92.

March 12, 2023 - Nose: Green, p funk, syrupy smell

Palate: Typical west coast Coca Cola / molasses, some sweetness, very little tannin, medium finish

Deeper I got into this bottle, the tougher it was to finish. Found it a bit lacking in finesse

October 15, 2022 - Pop and pour and tasted over three days (refrigerating half in a 375ml bottle). Tasted alone and with food. Gabriel Glas Universal.
    Dark purple color.
Nose offers an interesting patchouli floral note along with dark berry fruit.
Nice dark fruit profile with that floral note weaving on and out.
The patchouli is an interesting and perhaps unexpected component.

Good quality cork, although a bit short.

NB: Never a big fan of patchouli as my context is generally whirling dancers at Grateful Dead shows where the smell of patchouli, mixed with perspiration, was overwhelming. Here, it added a subtle and interesting floral note.
