Villa Antinori is comparatively low in the Antinori food chain, although production wise it is huge. The 2019 vintage is developing something of a stellar reputation in Tuscany. To judge this wine, one needs to bear those factors in mind.
What we found was a well made wine - it had very smooth tannin and was definitely quaffable. But it seemed to have been robbed of its individuality. It lacked that slightly dusty and angular presence. It had some fruit but where was that defined, almost tart, morello cherry? To try and put it simply it was nice but a tad anonymous -

October 13, 2023 - Repeat tasting. A rich and complex wine. Not the pinnacle of the creation, but overall an interesting wine.
