July 27, 2018 - IPNC Weekend 2018; 7/26/2018-8/2/2018 (Linfield College, McMinnville, OR): Drank a glass very late in the evening. We had been badgering our Somm supreme, "Ric Ecrane", to see if he could find us some DRC and low and behold he found what we suspect to be a counterfeit bottle of 1996 La Tache. The dead give away was the hastily crossed out Escarpment label and the Sharpie written "1996 DRC La Tache" over it. Names have been changed to protect the creatively innocent. Imagine our disappointment :). There was wine in the bottle, and I think it tasted like Pinot Noir from far south of the border.

May 6, 2018 - Still plenty of fruit here vs the developed flavours but felt like it was tiring after a hour or 2, lots of pleasure here for its age

June 17, 2017 - While still very nice, it's not as good as my previous. Bottle variation or it's on its way down hill.

June 18, 2014 - Red fruit, toasy oak well integrated. Spicy with good acidity and silky tannins.

August 29, 2012 - Medium ruby in colour, with an attractive raspberry and herb nose. Medium bodied on the palate, with more complexity than on the nose. Raspberry, cherry, lovely earthy notes, herbs, and healthy acidity are the main components. Good food wine. Nicely done for the basic Escarpment offering, this should last several years yet (B+/A-).
