December 31, 2023 - Really (overly) tannic and austere. Even with a 24hr decant these showed little signs of letting up. Quality is clear but there was little drinking pleasure to be had here. These will need time and a bit of luck if they are to live up to their promise...

February 6, 2023 - Brooding, primadonna-ballerina of a nose, smoke, dark cherry stones, decadent wild strawberries and a hint of old roses recently taken from a wood-panelled room. Tightly coiled palate, all black cherry and fine tannin with a long finish of lush spiced cherry compote and wet slate. Elegance matched only by brute power, this needs either a 24h decant or 5 more years at least.
