Community Tasting Notes 5

March 5, 2022 - My last bottle, this needs air to blossom and shine, pretty much gets more youthful with air. Vibrant gold colour, beeswax, sour yellow plum, honey, a little ginger and cinnamon spice and refreshing acidity, so complex it’s hard to define the flavours and aromas, probably should have been drunk a while ago but these bottles have been fascinating and quite singular, I’m glad I kept them to experience how they develop as I’m unlikely to do this again

March 5, 2020 - Almost red brown, needs a little air to relax and lasts over the evening, very complex and tertiary, hardly a white wine now, fascinating

October 18, 2014 - Quite a dark golden colour. The nose isn't too expressive, a little toast and honied development with a touch of mandarin. The palate is a different story with a real mixture of dried and candied citrus fruits a little nuttiness, marzipan and it's got a really long savoury finish. I've no idea how this was when it was younger but I'm really liking the maturity, it still has enough acidity to drink alone, but no doubt better with food.

July 10, 2011 - Salone di Grandi Vini Bianchi (Mirabelle Restaurant Austin, Texas): This wine caught our attention … the color was an amazing deep yellow color with tinges of orange/orange reflections – fruit aromas of kumquats, stewed apricots, and mandarin oranges, perfumed flowers and a stoney minerality. The favorite wine of a very good flight of six bottles for our three tasting groups.

January 25, 2011 - Deep orangey-gold. Nose of oak and bitter almonds. On palate, no fruit, sappy, medicinal, quite acidic, a little harsh, and still very oaky in spite of its age. Even though it looks as if it were oxidized, there is no trace of an oxidized smell or taste. Td'A is never particularly charming, although Marina Cvetiç's is usually better than most. Tasted this vintage over several years and it never really improved from first tasting.
