  October 20, 2012 - Opened an hour prior to consumption. Very dark in color. Lots of black fruit on the nose and palate, with licorice and smoky vanilla oak. Smooth buy lacking a bit of acid at this point. Still satisfying, especially at a $16 sale price. Last bottle. Thanks for the memories. If scoring, 89-91.

  July 28, 2012 - Very big nose of chocolate covered cherries. Full bodied with ripe blackberry and spice. Almost Zinfandel like. Fruit forward and new world style all the way. A party in my mouth and I like it. Drinking very young at age 9. Long sweet finish with a little bit of vanilla spice creeping in.

  February 9, 2011 - Rich dark purple in color - almost black. Pungent nose of dark red fruit and licorice. Smooth mouth feel - ripe red fruit nicely balanced with smokey oak. Meaty, chewy and delicious. A real surprise at $16 a bottle at the state monopoly store winter warm-it-up sale.

  February 6, 2011 - Big and strong. This wine is meaty and filled with dark berries. Has a certain smokiness to it. Long and flavorful finish.

  January 16, 2010 - This is a much better wine with food than sipping while grilling steaks and getting the rest of the meal ready. It pours dark and has dark fruit on the nose and palate. I tasted some vanilla oak, but I didn't get any spiciness like others. There was nice balance ... I'm just thinking it might be a little overpriced for the experience.
