    Dégorgement: Noviembre / 2019.

April 10, 2023 - Excellent. Slight aged sherry hint with lemon curd and minerals. Rich and satisfying. perfect with cheese, oysters, and ceviche.

October 14, 2022 - This had nice ripe fruit and density and showed slight development, but the acidity felt a bit green and prickly.
Most of the bottle left for day 2. I found it more balanced and ready to drink, and now showing a trademark streak of Marguet oxidative/barrel richness.
Overall this is a solid Shaman but it needs another year or two for my preferences. It was interesting to drink this next to a 2017 Coessens Brut Nature, the Shaman had much more friendly, ripe fruit on day 2.

October 10, 2022 - Super bold, from the color through to the aromas and flavors. Underneath the abundant froth out of the bottle there's a golden hue. Assertive, vinous aromas. Barrel treatment is detectable without degenerating into oakiness. Fruit is ripe, there isn't a hint of bland here, and dosage is not missed. Food wine, that's for sure.

October 1, 2022 - Decided to give my final bottle of 16 Shaman a go. Last of three bottles. Disgorged November 2019. 86% Pinot Noir and 14% Chardonnay. For this vintage, these three bottles have shown some variation. So, I decided a few nights ago to open my last one as I wasn't sure to expect. On the first night.....hmm, this is damn good, and not what I was expecting. I finished that glass and put the bottle under stopper. Last night, couldn't get to another glass so had to wait until this evening. Man, this is super interesting, evolving in the glass and transmitting all kinds of cool nuances. Judging the wine tonight for my note here, the aromatics are a bitchen mix of white pepper, toast and something akin to a brown spice, maybe better said as cardamom with some maple. The palate? Equally fascinating to me. Pineapple, yellow apple, and then lots of savory mushroom with a cleansing savory salinity. In the finish, I could swear there is lavender in the wine, adding the savory/floral along with the same brassiness I found in the previous bottle, making for a persistent finish. Overall, this is an intellectual journey, a wine I would absolutely pour blind to see what others would say. Just a bitchen bottle of Champagne.
