  February 4, 2024 - Update. It's been a year and a half, and this wine has improved. It's drinking beautifully now with a decant, and things are in harmonious balance. This has a the structure to age. This is a very good blend!

  October 12, 2023 - Ah, the stalwart defender of my cellar, how fond I've grown of you. This is just good juice - everything is in balance. Dusty leather on the nose belies the more-complexe palate - tannic, acidic, beautiful dark fruits. Decently long finish.
  
  Every bottle of this that I open is better than the last; alas, I'm down to my last two. Surely there are better wines in the world, but how often do you find them for $15/ea? DN hit it out of the park with this one.

  January 28, 2023 - Great muscular wine. Not fruity, with some graphite and dirt. Tannins are well integrated. It's not silky smooth yet but will be in a year or two. Great value.

  October 7, 2022 - Inky purple in the glass, beautiful bouquet of dark fruits, chocolate, and strong cassis. There’s a very elegent, smooth, Merlot taking the lead. Not usually my preference, but the fruit is high quality.
  
  Smooth entry, integrated mid palate of dominant dark fruits. Long finish, largely resolved velvety tannin. There’s no oozing complexity in this wine (dN states $75+ label value, I would have guessed $40-$50), but it punched WELL above its weight class. $20? C’mon! You’d be very hard pressed to do better at $20. Stylistically, not my preference…but a damn good wine.
  
  Aim for a 2hr decant. For reference, scored 90 on first night, upped to 92 on night 3. The wine really mellowed and became a bit more “plush”.

  September 21, 2022 - This just gets more interesting with every bottle. Tonight's was especially good - I don't know if it's bottle variation, or whether this wine is turning a corner. Either way, delicious!
