May 26, 2022 - Really pretty Chianti, and I would never guess it had Merlot in the blend. Lifted and fresh on the nose: red cherry, red plum, wild strawberry, hawthorn, minty herbs, a little tobacco and cedar. Fresh and lively on the palate, firm tannins, medium-bodied, this is primary and a bit raw, but it should smooth out in a few years. Beautiful mix of tart red fruit, herbs and subtle savory nuance on the finish. Save it for a couple years, and follow it many years thereafter.
