December 13, 2013 - Pushing it to the limit here with what is now a 10 year old QPR, but that's how I roll...Very changeable so far. Out of the bottle, impressed it was still holding structural componants: very definite cherry fruit, tannins, great acidity--beautifully tart, almost cranberry. Quick finsh with the alcohol poking its ugly head out. It warmed a bit in the glass with dinner--lamb chops, couscous, sweet potato fries. Very good pairing with the sweetness of the potato, wine's cinnamon/spice component came out with a perfect compliment. Color is still good, a little faded at rim but not much. Nose brings the cherry and cassis which comes out more as it warms. This was a fine wine in its day for the money--under $10. I applaud this peoducer for getting everything right. Oh, yeah, and the cork was barely touched with wine stain when I pulled it out and it is a BEE-YOU-TEE-FUL pictorial cork that said Gigondas. Bravo Trignon.

January 13, 2012 - Last bottle. These three bottles have been great QPR and very consistent. A solid if unspectacular producer and vintage, but these have punched above their weight. At cellar temparature, not too expressive, but when warmed up it provides a better experience. Light ruby with smoke, game, earth, cinnamon and cherries on the fairly expressive nose. The medium bodied palate offers game, garrigue, pepper and cherries. It has nice elegance and texture, but some power and complexity for a CDR-V. Still some tannins left: the fruit may be disappearing (B+/A-)?.

January 14, 2011 - Medium ruby in colour, with a nice nose of earthy cherries and a hint of meat and garrigue. Medium bodied, on the elegant side, but with some firm but fine, ripe tannins, with more cherries, plums, garrigue, tar and leather. Nice purity and complexity, but more tannic than I would have expected (especially compared to my last bottle). But overall a very enjoyable CDR-V, and solid QPR; given the tannins, it should last a while yet. I have one more to try in a couple of years or so (A-).

April 13, 2008 - Not bad for the price point ($8.99).

October 27, 2007 - Hazy notes from a few days ago. A very nice CdR-V here. Deep in colour, and with an interesting nose of redfuits and spices, especially cinamon. Very plush on the palate, with a nice velvety texture. Could use a little more structure, but maybe it's just hidden by all that fruit right now. Rather modern in style, but no lashings of oak here. Great now, but should last another 5 years (B+/A-).
