June 13, 2015 - I thought this was tasting quite well. It poured that brooding inky dark purple with a nose of dark fruit that continued on the palate with a little green vegetal taste that I was OK with. Went very nicely with the bison steaks.

November 12, 2013 - Incredible wine! Could have aged another 5 years!

August 16, 2013 - Pours that dark petite color; lots of dark fruit (purple/black plums, blackberries, blueberries) on the nose and palate with a nice integration of soft tannins. Not enough 'umph' for me, but pleasant.

August 12, 2012 - Hmmmmmmmmmm ... rmm ... what were you tasting?! I drank this over 2 nights ... yeah there was a little 'raisin' on the first night ... I thought it more port-like, but the second night ... ahhhhhhhhhh, that's why we like petites ... big, bold, teeth staining, lots of fruit and with the steak, it was wonderful! I'm glad I have 2 more bottles!!

March 21, 2012 - First exposure to Estrella Creek PS was at specialty event showcasing producers of Petite Sirah. Estrella and only one other producer had what I consider to be outstanding offerings. The most striking aspect is how dark it is -- almost as dark as Rasmussen Esoterica PS (...darkest wine I've ever had)! The nose is somewhat subdued but hints at raisin; hardly any wood, but a little spice. It is very fruit-forward on the palate, with a BIG berry profile (which seems to have turned off other commenter, unfortunately) but that I really enjoyed, and paired well with the cheese and sauce of my lasagna. I suspect that this would pair wonderfully with a good steak. The ABV is 14.8% but it was not "hot" at all. After about an hour it really mellowed and softened to the point where my wife and I sipped it on its own. Finish is not overly long but clean.
