May 23, 2021 - Another strong entry for the 2nd day, from Jen's cellar. Decanted 1 hour, consumed over 4-6 more. Showing just the slightest of lightening in the glass around the edges.....black olive and herbs de Provence on the nose, chalky red/black fruit in the mouth, good weight, pleasant acidity backing it all up. Later in the evening a swirl in the glass brings out some sweeter elements like confectioner's sugar momentarily. Worchestershire notes emerge further down the line....smooth integrated tannins and a nice finish with a little acid.....in a very good place right now. Thank's Jen!

May 22, 2021 - Wineapolooza in Atlanta; 5/21/2021-5/23/2021 (My house): In great shape for its age and one of my favorite Cali Syrah. Plenty of dark plummy fruit, lingonberries, but also the Worcester sauce savory notes that I get from Lewis with a bit of age. Really delicious but plenty of years left to drink.

May 22, 2021 - One hour decant. Very deep and bright garnet ruby color. Bbq sauce, black olive, lingonberry, plum, and Worcester sauce on the nose. Dry, velvety palate, with nice acidity. Very full tannins on the long finish.

This has aged impressively. It’s not as savory as my notes make this sound. It’s really a balanced beauty.

December 22, 2018 - My last bottle. This wine is still drinking in its absolute prime and can last 5+ years which is remarkable although not sure it will improve. WS review said drink by 2013, not even close to being accurate. Dark purple right to the edge of the glass And a beautiful nose of ripe black fruit with vanilla. Creamy and well balanced with well integrated tannins and a l9ng luxurious finish , almost Cab like. Underrated producer IMO

March 30, 2017 - Cork fresh seeming and sound. Initial aromas of raw lumber and super jammy and hot impression. After an hour or so in the glass, the wine settled down. Still had plenty of now more expressive ripe fruit and more balance. Does not seem to be in decline, based on this bottle.
