December 14, 2021 - Patience is finally rewarded, please decant !!
Consumed over three days. Perfect long cork easily removed from the heavy glass bottle. Dark burgundy color with good clarity. Started very tart & slightly astringent, but finally came around after three days and lots of oxygen to soften this Dry Creek Zinfandel. Aromas and flavors of red plums, and bing cherry with white pepper and a short to medium finish. The Katz-Ponzo Vineyard is a great fruit source, but the strong acidity may reflect an early harvest before sugars developed evenly. A touch of green berries can swing a Zinfandel down the acid road. May age well, but my recommendation is vigorous decanting while young.

December 2, 2021 - Strange Zin. I am a fan of their Pinot Noir's so I took a flyer on this bottling of Zinfandel and this tastes and looks nothing like a Zinfandel. Tried over 2 days. Very tart.
