Í nefi: Mynta, sólber. Frekar lokað í byrjun. Síðan komu fram kryddtónar, kanill og múskat.
Á tungu: Furunálar, vanilla, sæta. Svo mynta og kuldi. Ljós ávöxtur. Þægilegt í munni. Líklega heldur ákveðnari cab. einkenni í þessu víni heldur en víninu sem fór á undan.
Ég var hrifnari af þessu víni heldur en víninu sem fór á undan. Þetta kostar um 3.900 kr. og held ég að það verði að teljast prýðileg kaup. Hitt vínið er á 4.000 kr.
May 29, 2023 - Deep ruby colour. Pronounced and developing nose with blackcurrant, black plum, cedar, potting soil, vanilla, eucalyptus and leather. Pronounced taste of blackcurrant, black plum, cedar, potting soil, vanilla, licorice and leather. Medium long and dry finish. Medium acidity. High tannins. Full body. A good Californian Cabernet Sauvignon that lacks some length and complexity. Drink now or over the next couple of years. Goes well with beef or lamb.
January 20, 2023 - Purple fruit, black currants, oak, and some herbal nuance power the nose. Displays good richness and heft, ripe tannin, bright energy, and an agreeable lick of salt. Better than I expected.
December 11, 2022 - solid every day cab.. dark in the glass, red fruit and tannins as expected. came in a little sweeter than ones that i have had in the past. should have waited a bit to let the fruit characteristics settle down.. all in all a good every day wine.
August 20, 2022 - Retasted. Same notes as before. Good value in easy-drinking California Cabernet. w/appetizers, cheeses.
July 29, 2022 - Okay, so this isn’t a big Napa Cab, but then again, it’s only $12. This is a nice table Cab that won’t offend drinkers of great Cabernets. Good aroma, flavorful but not distinctive; there aren’t a lot of layered characteristics here. Mild but pleasant tannins. Short finish. Just a nice, drinkable wine.
June 29, 2022 - Value Livermore, Calif., 2019 Wente Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon Southern Hills ($16, BevMo). Dark garnet, viscous (13.5 alc.); red fruit, berries, herbaceous, cocoa and wood nose; low-mid acids; medium body; semi-long fruity, berry and wood finish. Easy-drinking summer sipping wine. 15.5-16 UC Davis scale, 89-90 other scales.
