February 4, 2024 - Notes from second day. Lime, lemon, white peach, slate. Intense and rich, dry finish, but with a tiny kiss of sweetness and then mouthwatering acidity. Unsurprisingly better on day two, but still really good on day one. Best to come, but this is certainly approachable now. Always a treat to drink Falkenstein. I will hold my other two bottles for several years since there's no rush to drink this.

September 9, 2023 - This wine unsurprisingly presented quite closed on the nose and palate but over time revealed a primary nose of lime, white peach, lemon zest, thyme, petrichor and slate rock. The palate was similarly tight yet demonstrated a sense of purity and intensity balanced by a long and zesty finish. This will all develop much further with plenty of time with all the needed components evident.

October 22, 2022 - PnP. Just got my 2021 Falkenstein allocation and decided to go back to one of the 2020's I haven't tasted yet. Lots of citrus, lime leaf, petrol, underlying peach notes, tons of mineral and stone and bracing acidity. It has the cleanness and preciseness of all the Falkenstein wines. It finishes dry with prominent acidity, but also with surprising richness and intensity (it is a Spatlese trocken so it makes sense). Wonderful now, but this will clearly improve. Based on other notes, I was a bit apprehensive to open this now because of the acidity levels, and while it does have prominent acidity, this is really wonderful and has tremendous intensity. I will do my best to hold the other bottles.

October 17, 2022 - Laser focus, searingly taut, as in my tongue feels like I just ate a bag of sour warheads. Clean profile, with a gentle dose of petrol.

August 7, 2022 - These wines are so good. Healthy dose of petrol on this bottle, otherwise clean and precise. Less fruit than the previous 2 tastes
