April 16, 2024 - On the occasion of a 60th birthday celebration and surprisingly this wine continues to taste fresh and vibrant. Served quite cold so subdued on the nose with honey and apricot - but super weight and refined taste; apricot, pineapple, with real clarity and balance.

August 11, 2023 - Quite a different smell for this bottle - quite sweet, almost raisin-ey smell reflected when tasting - enough acidic cut through for an a refreshing end taste, but not quite as balanced as the last bottles.

July 5, 2022 - Old gold in glass

on nose, more honey, less botrytis than younger sibling
On palate, quite a few layers, lingering apricot sweetness over lemon, long.
Compares well with similar age Sauternes

Would have bought, but could not carry a magnum home

June 3, 2022 - A speculative purchase of many bottles of this vintage - not much on the nose, but immediate reminders of the 1998 vintage taste - wonderful burnt caramel apricot - very broad generous taste but with some acidic kick to keep it all together.

June 28, 2017 - This 15 year old half bottle has a light amber red tinged color, which neither looks nor smells particularly oxidized. The mouth entry is creamy, caressing, juicy, and nutty. But most importantly, the considerable sweetness is well balanced by cleansing acidity, which keeps the wine from ever becoming cloying. Delicious with a wide range of desserts, including creme brulee, chocolate, biscotti, and glazed fruits. Keeps well for weeks corked in the refrigerator.
