June 3, 2018 - 9 magnums for 40 thirsty souls at my 70th birthday lunch. A splendid affair, and a delicious wine to celebrate it. Fully ready, but can probably improve still further. It promises well for the grand vin.

April 27, 2018 - Winebar [4 Whts & 8 Reds] (Vintage Wines Ltd., San Diego, CA): N: Clsd; "Mature" smoke, oranges, poss cherries; cont to evolve SOMEWHAT over time

P: LM body; NICE almost swtish frt NICELY balanced by acidity with JUST a TOUCH of astringeny which slowly transitions into a very LONG (albeit very, VERY slightly faint) bitterswt (40:60) choc finish. For NOW, though POSS may last into '20, this wine seems FULLY resolved, so no REASON to cellar further. My VG/VG+. 86 pts ea WS & WA. [This vendor's $54.95 CAN be beaten by $5, though the only other U.S. wine-searcher vendor is $25 >?!?]

March 10, 2018 - Winebar [4 Whts & 8 Reds] from 03/09/18: N: RIPE plums, minerals, with choc underneath? Intensity lurking?

P: Med, poss LM, body; NICE, almost swtish frt met by a puckerish astringency which DOES lose all but a swtish, very, VERY finely tannic firmness by the LONG, balanced, bitter/swt finish. For now & possibly through '21... safely. My VG+. 86 pts ea WS & WA. [This vendor's $54.95 CAN be beaten by $5, though the only other U.S. wine-searcher vendor is $25 >?!?]

November 12, 2017 - Füllstand: IN. Immer in Dormagen und Erlangen gut gelagert. Nase eher verhalten.

February 23, 2014 - Big surprise this bottle! Several previous bottles appeared a little thin, almost maturing too quickly. This was different. The nose was pronounced super ripe plum and cherry, touch of vanilla, and slight jammy character. The palate was rich, expansive, supple and round. Tasted blind I would have though new world originally, it posssessed an incredible richness. This bottle exceeded all expectations. On this showing theres lots of life left in this wine. Impressive.
