April 8, 2023 - Night of Merlot with Lianzijia (Newmarket, Auckland): bold, dark fruits, caramel, vanilla, obvious rum hints, sweet alcohol. good on weight and creamy flavours. but lacks acidity, length and layers. easily pleased, easily bored.

March 31, 2023 - bold aromas, dark plum, caramel, vanilla, some cinnamon, clove and other spices. round texture, supple and light tannins, full body, the barrel flavours well support the weight, alc 14.5%, it's bold, oak influenced, simply pleasing, very California style.
