March 15, 2018 - 1993 Red Burgundy Horizontal: This is a highly expressive nose that has an array of red fruit aromas, developed cherry and flickers of sweet strawberry, mocha and coffee grinds, and damp rustic earth. Nuanced and detailed. The palate here is good too with earth-influenced and developed fruit, but doesn’t totally match the complexity of the impressive nose. Still well put together with a mineral textured finish. Don't dismiss as negociant, this was a surprisingly great look at straight up Chambertin.

May 3, 2014 - Dark. Hint of mushrooms, rich red and dark fruits. Some earth. This was okay but not good until about 2-3 hours later when it put on much more weight. Depth then became more impressive. Velvety. Lacking some aromatic complexity but drinking nicely.

June 8, 2012 - Blew away 1994 Chambertin from Rousseau, 1985 Margaux and 1989 Palmer as WOTN. This is an excellent, fresh and long Burgundy as a Chambertin should be. Also superior to the Jadot 1989 and 1991 Clos de Beze on an other occasion. Seems that Jadot got some excellent, ripe grapes in 1993 to produce this wonderful wine. Should go on for 10-15 years without losing its sheer class.

October 15, 2011 - Pilgrimage to a Wine Mecca: Much darker than the DRC Echezeaux with almost crystallized candied quality on the nose. Combination of red and black fruit. Round and ripe, especially for the year, pretty big wine, but nicely laced with soil as well. Not as fruit driven as it initially smelled. Ready now and not much positive or negative development in the glass. Excellent though and not the usual cool 1993 profile.
