August 16, 2023 - Bigger body than other Pinots, a touch of minerality that sets it apart from others. Loved it.

February 4, 2023 - Chateau Biawak Chapter 9: SONOMAvatar - The way of water (Chateau Biawak, Singapore): 13.8% ABV. The bulk of the blend at 31% comes from the Walala Vineyard in Annapolis. 18% from Gravenstein Vineyard in Sebastopol Hills. And the remainder comes from Freestone Vineyard from Freestone-Occidental, Dutton-Upp Road Vineyard in the Green Valley of Russian River Valley, and Grand Vent Vineyard from the Petaluma Gap. 18-20% whole clusters, mostly on the Gravenstein fruit (which gives the wine some nice spice and lifted fruit). Native yeast fermentation with gentle pumpovers (remontage) and manual punchdowns (pigeage). Sees 12 months in 30% new oak, which includes a combination of Cavin, Remond, Francois Freres and Stockinger, bottled unfined and unfiltered.

Lovely garnet hue, rose petals, fresh red fruits, citrus peel minerality, richer red fruit on the palate, nice touch of oak framing, spiced fruitcake and floral finish.

February 13, 2022 - Sonoma (and one Napa) Wineries; 2/13/2022-2/18/2022 (Healdsburg, CA and Napa, CA): Nose is definitely new world, ripe and rich cherries with an oaky background. The palate is less round but still has a ripe cherry, thick spice cake quality with a bit of a lifted floral finish. Easy drinking for normal (i.e. not crazy) wine drinkers is probably the best way to describe.
