February 12, 2024 - As per usual, this seems to be one of the top wines Turley makes. The 2019 is a great example with blue/red fruit and nice savory notes and spice on the finish.

December 19, 2023 - Sampled over a two-hour period from a bottle that had been decanted through a Vinturi aerator, Turley's 2019 Rattlesnake Ridge Zinfandel reinforces my belief that, year in and year out, this is arguably the best vineyard-designated wine that Turley crafts. Opaque ruby in color, it is packed with blackberries, cassis, mulling spices, licorice, graphite and black pepper. Full-bodied, remarkably fresh and somehow hiding its 15.4% alcohol, it wraps its flavors with plentiful fine-grained tannins and a modicum of wood. Layered on the mid-palate and long on the back end, this is a beautiful expression of the grape. Enjoy it at any time throughout the remainder of this decade, but be sure to give it an hour or more of air if you choose to pop the cork at this stage in its evolution. Drink now-2030.

October 18, 2023 - Wonderful nose of spices herbs and berries. On the palate, a little less defined but still very tasty. Acidity, while fresh, is quite tame and the tannins are very smooth. In a great place right now.

September 28, 2023 - Very berry, juicy. Medium to long finish. Not quite as spice driven as I expected. Are with pizza and was great. Probably still evolving I’m thinking, although definitely good now.
