  November 4, 2023 - Mature. Peachy. Apple. Cinnamon and spicy. Brown butter and apple pie? Very well balanced with mature sweetness and nice baking spices some green apple and crunchy red apples as well as some sweet peach. Some honey and pastry. Not as acidic as I would expect for a 96 but very well put together and in an excellent spot. Finish is full of apples and some nice green apple tartness. Good spices and cinnamon. Long and balanced with good drive. Was hoping for spectacular but this is merely excellent. Nose: 5/6, Palate: 5.5/6, Finish - 5/6, Je ne Sais Quoi - 1-1.5/2 = 16.5-17/20.

  May 24, 2020 - Golden in the glass. Sublime nose - a summers evening with honey suckle and an undertone of petrol. Luscious full body, beautiful delicate sweetness on the palate of caramelised pears, lemon curd and marmalade. Very long piquant orange peel finish. This was superb, and could go for years longer.

  March 31, 2019 - Potent nose of honeyed, tropical fruit, hint of spice, plus a very soft silky palate. Taste of pear, grapefruit, honey, pineapple with a tangy long finish. Great balance. Very good.

  December 24, 2017 - Naja... war sehr anständig. In Ordnung. Vielleicht eine eher schwächere Flasche. Tolle Aromatik, man merkt die saubere Arbeit und die Qualität im Ausbau aber das Ding ist etwas flach und es fehlt an Säure und Spannung. Ich hoffe (für meine restlichen Flaschen) auf eine Off-Bottle.

  May 1, 2017 - J.J. Prüm Whelener Sonnenuhr (Mostly Auslese) Dinner (Rouge Tomate): With coaxing this nose gives up a complex bouquet of echinacea and honey with fresh herbal notes. Smoky honey as well. Gunpowder and spent 12 gauge shells. Ripe pineapple on the palate with big acid to balance out delicious sweetness. Both '95 and '96 are terrific.
