June 16, 2023 - Impressive wine - it's very big (15.5% alcohol), and somehow conveys that with a sense of restraint and finesse that I find surprising for CdP. The flavours are very red fruited - all cherries, raspberries, and kirsch with light herbal and earthy accents. It's definitely ripe, but there's nothing confected or jammy about the fruit flavours which have a nice sense of freshness to them. Enjoyed this, though given the size/scale it's not a wine I'd reach for often.

January 29, 2023 - Decanted 1.5 Hours & would have done well to decant longer for as dinner went on the wine complexity & profile changed from soft tightness to mellow balance. Initial pour provides full cherry nose w/nicely balanced legs. On the palate nice soft leather, full ripe plums & soft cherries. Nice finish.

January 13, 2023 - Dark purple fruit and sweet aromas dominate the smell. It has a sweet, slightly acidic tang in flavor. Some light tannin on the back of the tounge.

January 13, 2023 - Decanted for almost 2.5 hours. Aromas of raspberry Grenache, iron, white pepper, licorice and smoked herbs. Flavors of raspberry, melted chocolate, cherry, licorice and hint of plum. Ends with a 25-30 second finish with cherry and raspberry notes. Nice wine.

March 11, 2022 - I rarely drink Chateauneuf, but I have to say this is fabulous. Aromas of chambord, kirsch, blackberry jam and juicy plums, spice cabinet, subtle lavender and dried rose petals, a little olive, nori and green tobacco too. Powerful and thick on the palate, beautiful warmth and resonance, very fruity and ripe, quite tannic as well, acids come through somehow, there's great focus and concentration here. Long and saturating finish, with beautiful integration of alcohol heat and genuinely spicy/herbal flavors, plus exuberant and extraordinarliy fragrant fruit that just won't give up. I wanna say that this needs 5 years, and that I can imagine it will be most interesting in 15 to 20+, but it is so delicious right now!
