March 21, 2013 - Luciano Racca was in town and it was fund to open this bottle with him. this was a pop & pour and we were all impressed with the freshens of the dark fruit. There was still a strong presence of wood on the nose but the wine did go through a nice transformation revealing good layering and structure. More elements of animal/ lanolin and spice and a well balanced finish with relatively low acid. This was all about the fruit and held up great would have probably drank well for another 3-4 years. A testament to the quality of the wine & the vintage. It was shadowed tonight by a beautiful bottle of Clerico CMG 96 which we had SBS & was just stunning, but on it's own a great bottle.

January 22, 2010 - I was worried this was past its prime, but it was delicious. Lots of tasty fruit, fine tannins. Beautiful boquet, long finish. Not very complex but sometimes the simple things are all you need. I would buy this again in a heartbeat.

May 24, 2009 - This was served together with the 99 Icardi and shows a much more "modernist" profile -the nose rocked right out of the gate and actually shut down a bit during a period of 5hrs of slow Ox. After several hrs in the decanter this came back beautifully. There is great extraction in this vintage and the wine is still fresh and vibrant. While it may not posses much complexity (hey it's barbera after all) it is a very well made wine and enjoyable.

April 24, 2008 - Good nose. Mildly fruity. Excellent with a couple of pasta dishes.

April 9, 2007 - Rubi atijolado. Aromas intensos revelando especiarias, couro novo e baunilha. Na boca corpo médio com boa fruta, bastante equilibio e maciez, boa acidez e taninos finos. Pimenta, especiarias, framboesa e baunilha. Longo final. Excelente.
