January 1, 2012 - Nicely structured. Surprisingly had a bit of tannins on open by gone soon thereafter.

February 20, 2011 - Raisins, licorice and spicy notes. Very well balanced with not too much sugar. Opened beautifully. What a great wine for a mushroom risotto.

August 16, 2009 - Dried fruits, herbs, smoke, tobacco, chocolate, almond and dried flowers on a very complex nose. Full bodied yet lively on the palate. True midpalate complexity here...with med long finish. Nice acids. Really a very complex food wine, not coming across port like at all. Little if any residual sugar. Needs a few more years, but this is a style I really like in an amarone.

March 1, 2009 - Wine House Advanced: Wow! Big, hot, sweaty; black cherry, plum, choc., oak, prune, spice, jam; big everything, baked, liquorice, med. + fin., Grt.

(BRIGALDARA Amarone) Brigaldara Dear Friends, This is a concise offer but I'm without power for my computer so I have to conserve my waning battery (there are times when I disdain our reliance on technology but I am as guilty as anyone). I've received a number of inquires today about this wine - not sure why but supposedly there's an Antonio Galloni tip on the 2003 somewhere (maybe Antonio can chime in with more information on the producer and style of the 2003?). Typically, this producer is more reserved than the norm and almost Veneto meets Gevrey in overall personality but I'm not sure how the 2003 compares to past efforts - it appears to be highly touted? I'm also not sure if there are any scores or other out there but I'm jumping on a plane in five minutes so I can't do any research. Here you go...directly from the source at what should be about the same price as in Italy (the 6.0lt has never moved since being hand-bottled - it would make for a dramatic wedding wine in a few years): 2003 Brigaldara Amarone della Valpolicella Classico 1997 Brigaldara Amarone della Valpolicella Classico 6.0lt . STRICT LIMIT 1/person on the 6.0lt until we run out. Thank you, Jon Rimmerman Garagiste Seattle, WA Italy7701 Italy7702
