December 11, 2021 - Epic Napa Trip - Day 7: Tasted at the winery - This was my favorite wine of the tasting! Nose showed dark fruit, earth, tree bark and leather, with notes of anise and spice. Palate was quite structured with an excellent balance between fruit, tannins and acidity. Tannins were plush, with layers of cassis, currant and dark cherry. Palate also showed plenty of bramble with some cocoa and sweet oak. The finish was medium-long. A very nice wine! 94+ to 95, and will likely improve.

December 11, 2021 - Napa trip day 7: Drank a glass over 45 minutes at the winery. Exploding fruit on the nose and initial attack, followed by silky earth. It ends with a spicy finish that lingers for 1+ minute with fine tannins. With food there is some noticeable alcohol. The wine is better by itself. Supposedly this is their earthy terroir wine.
