Community Tasting Notes 8

June 10, 2009 - This has aged well, still showing the telltale briar/mineral profile with ripe blackberry fruit and distinct garrigue perfume. At peak.

May 30, 2008 - No decant. Opened in glass over the course of an hour. Really rich and inviting. Medium to long finish. Tannins barely noticable.

November 25, 2007 - Dark, fruity nose, echoing the taste. Rich and spicy. Dark red color. Great bottle with dinner or hors d'oevres.

May 8, 2007 - Consumed at home with turkey Joe's Special. The wine is still opaque purple, black-fruit dominated, low on the acid side and (unlike some other LC bottlings) completely devoid of VA or other flaws. Quite enjoyable. Assuming no monstrous bottle variation, this should drink beautifully for the next 3+ years.

    February 14, 2007 - decanted for 30 minutes.

this was so smooth! even the Mrs commented on how good it was...

dark blue/purple color, almost all the way to the rim. on the nose, a rich concoction of black fruits and a touch of leather. in the mouth there was a trace of spice that complemented the blueberry/blackberry... didn't detect much acidity. the smooth silky finish lasted a good 20-25 seconds.

have one left, and think it could go another 4-5 years, but doubt it would get any better.
