January 6, 2023 - I bought this without knowing much about it but Semillon from Napa seemed unusual. This has a lovely poise about it with enough acid to keep it fresh. Sunny orchard fruit, some fruit skin and white pepper, more textural than aromatic. I really enjoyed it but I also like those subtle lower acid white Rhone wines so if that is you, check this out. (Side note: this is a husband and wife side project (he is an assistant winemaker at Turley and she manages the vineyards at Foley. The name comes from a quote about the orgins of rugby which includes the description that the player in fine disregard for the way the game had been played previously picked up the ball and ran with it. )
